 ..but you knew that already

Currently sampling the delights of co-codamol and naproxen. Initially thought I had a kidney infection but could barely walk out of work on Tuesday so CurvyGirl took me to A&E. Turns out simply to be a pulled back muscle. My other stats (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygenation) were surprisingly good considering that my godly physique is currently modelled after Buddha.

Boom and Bust
There's nothing more annoying than being able to see you've been paid but that the money hasn't got to your bank account.yet.
Edit: w00t my bank balance is no longer empty

I set up a phone to do 2-Factor authentication for my job only to find out they only supported Android 7.1 and up, Considering this version of Android is only 18 months old, and many phones can't upgrade to Nougat, I think this is a little silly

One of my phones is an obscure Chinese model called a Leagoo Shark 1. I like it because it has a big screen and a large battery. Unfortunately I dropped it, cracking the screen. Prising modern phones apart is a tricky job. I now have all the new components inserted into the phone but can't put it back together because I need to desolder the speaker/ vibrator and attach it to the new USB board.

I've been planning to learn soldering by georgeha (4.00 / 2) #1 Thu Feb 08, 2018 at 10:10:18 AM EST
this month, I think I can fix a $200 transistor module for my Subaru with a $3 transistor, once I can learn to desolder and resolder things.

So you know, if you got a few thousand pounds lying around, you can fly to my the UK and I can learn on your phone.

That's very kind of you by anonimouse (4.00 / 2) #2 Thu Feb 08, 2018 at 10:34:09 AM EST
I was able to do soldering when I was about 16 and components were big enough to see without a microscope.

I fixed a Samsung LCD TV by riceowlguy (4.00 / 2) #4 Thu Feb 08, 2018 at 02:52:16 PM EST
I had to replace some bad capacitors on a control board.  I was pretty certain I'd botched the job during the desoldering phase, but I went ahead and put everything back together and fired it up anyway...and it worked.  So, courage! (I had zero practical soldering experience beforehand.  I watched some YouTube vidyas to prep.)

soldering is easy, so long as you dont care too much about the outcome...
