Work.

Work

Today was interesting - it seemed half the office was shooting the other half with Nerf guns. Bearing in mind the salaries of the individuals, it's possible these were the most highly paid Nerf gun gamers in the world.

I finally got through all the onboarding/ compliance videos. For good measure I've done all the training i need to do for six months.

I used to dislike London, but now I've got the hang of this commuting shit and take advantage of all the shows and restaurants, it doesn't seem so bad.

Work 2.

I helped someone put together a bid to make an application for a certain MacCancer charity. Unfortunately this week was told we came second instead of winning the contract. Need to find some other way of earning more money. I have some plans that I want to do this year and even my large pay increase from getting the bank job ain't quite going to cut it.

Still the above work isn't a total loss - it's got the MiniMice plus one of their friends into React programming, so maybe I can become an exploiter of child labour.

From the fact that someone is a Libertarian, I can deduce:
  • That they are male
  • That they are able-bodied
  • That they are in the upper range of earnings/wealth
  • That they live in a country with plenty of taxpayer-funded infrastructure/police/fire services etc. They don't live in a country that doesn't actually have a government
There are a few other traits that are strongly indicated but I can't be arsed to draw a Venn diagram

... but Ayn Rand professed to not be a libertarian.

There is no more degenerate kind of state than that in which the richest are supposed to be the best.

Eastern bloc exception by Merekat (2.00 / 0) #12 Tue Jan 23, 2018 at 01:30:29 AM EST
If lived under oppressive eastern bloc regime pre iron curtain, may also be female and/or not rich. But then probably won’t be faffing around below the line, so to speak.

Many are poor students, still living with their parents, who are in the upper range of earnings/wealth.

I can quite happily do server side stuff but if someone waves large wads of money to do JavaScript, I'll do it

Money coming into it... by anonimouse (4.00 / 0) #20 Fri Jan 26, 2018 at 03:30:12 PM EST
And javascript is almost as bad as pearl in enabling write-only code that requires the original developer to maintain at a high hourly rate...

As the original developer paid a high hourly rate I see nothing wrong with this state of affairs
