 It's commonly argued that many Americans have no idea of world geography.

However it's rather more serious when you have no idea of the geography of your own country.


 ... and now I understand why the UK has the transport system it does.

Actually since the borders of Russia and ex Soviet states keep changing so often I have no idea about anything east of Poland

It sounds like they were all wrong, therefore the rows in one column of the table got messed up.

As far as the former Soviet Union is concerned, it's only 1500 miles from London to Moscow, which surprised me, err, yesterday when the pilot said it would be a 3½ hour flight here. </smug>
