Working life

Your contract will finish at the End of November they said....

Where anonimouse whinges about a problem which many people would be delighted to have....

.. however $Company have just said "Err, um, we can't find anyone with the skills of anonimouse, so how would you like to be extended to the end of February?"

Normally I would be happy with another 3 month extension and take it in a heartbeat. However this time it conflicts with my alternative plan which was:
  1. Find a job in London with more pay
  2. Get a flat/ apartment and invite CurvyGirl to have more sex with me see me more often as she's moving to $LondonUniversity.
  3. Profit.
The more pay could be quite significant - it could be as much as 50-75% increase on my current rate, balanced of course by the increased cost of living in London. I have to make a decision whether a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush....

Ask for a rate increase during the extension. by notafurry (2.00 / 0) #1 Thu Nov 13, 2014 at 03:17:36 PM EST
Don't get greedy, but some reasonable percentage of the amount you expected to gain from a London based contract. Set the percentage based on how confident you are of finding such a contract.

farm one, or both, to offshore coders. Pay them a pittance and pocket the difference.

You're offshore (relative to me that is). Fancy being paid a pittance?

I don't think rate rises from the current job are a possibility, as I think its been a struggle to get this extension
