I am pleased to announce the arrival of a new baby to the anonimouse household.

His official name is Asus Nexus 7 Generation 2 32GB, but you can call him Nexus for short.

Update [2013-9-4 12:53:38 by anonimouse]: Miss Minimouse has declared that the preciouss is hers.

Now with a quick review

And tomorrow is Rome 2: Total War day, followed by Start New Job Day

First impressions: After the Ritual Unboxing, I managed to lose the charger that it came with down the back of the sofa and used a phone charger. This seems to be a mistake as whilst a phone charger kept the charge stable, it wasn't able to increase the amount of charge whilst it was undergoing any significant use.

The screen is slightly dimmer than I expected on max brightness, but still v. good. It came with Android 4.2 installed but prompted me to install Android 4.3, which I did immediately mainly because of the multi-user facility which 4.3 brings in (other people reading anonimouse emails would be bad).

Anyway after using playing with it for a while I'm not certain whether I'm going to get one for my personal use, as I still think a laptop is more suited to the fact I'm not just a web consumer. The main thing I can see one would be useful for is as an ebook reader - I don't get on with kindles and their ilk because they're not quite flexible enough outside their niche.

Just because its a foreign baby doesn't mean it wont get loved. Besides, my daughter has 'adopted' this one
