So now in addition to hipsters on fixies blowing through intersections causing drivers and joggers to take evasive action, people of all sorts blasting music through their iThingys so loud they can't hear me, random snakes and other critters, I now have to watch out for cars on the trail.

From the description she must have been driving this route. There's a fairly steep stretch that I wouldn't want to run a car down at 50 MPH sober, can't imagine how she made it drunk.

The trail I ride is a former rail bed, right next to an active line.  There is even a crossing.  That's not the dangerous part, that's the maintenance of way vehicles that barrel down the trail at quitting time.

So occasionally you have to dodge their trucks.

He was driving slowly, with his hazard flashers on, but people were still having to ride around him.

I've seen trucks and tractors with some frequency by lm (4.00 / 1) #5 Wed Jun 05, 2013 at 09:15:03 PM EST
Up this way on the Capital Crescent trail. But they're usually moving pretty slow. A full sized automobile traveling at 50 mph would certainly be hard to avoid.
