Print Story Hello there.

I've been busy. I expect to continue to be busy, but the things I am busy with will change.

There's been good times, and bad times, and girlfriends, and breakups, and no babies thank goodness, and deaths and births (not mine thank goodness) and festivals and holidays and stuff.

And during the whole of that there's been the animating. Slowly. Very slowly. Learning and testing and moving virtual 3d models by a few inches and programming rendering farms.

And now the film is done.

So that's nice.

Here's a trailer:

Anyone up for coming to see it's premier? Making it a lhusi type event?

Is this premier? You wont get the turn out these days as in LHusi of old as so many of us aren't as free in the evenings.

Yeah, you've all had babies innit by priestess (2.00 / 0) #2 Tue Dec 17, 2013 at 09:58:07 AM EST
The premier is at the whirled cinema near Brixton on Saturday the 18th January.

More details about the really rather cool venue here:

Looks fun! by TheophileEscargot (2.00 / 0) #3 Tue Dec 17, 2013 at 12:24:15 PM EST
How many people were involved? Looks like a lot of work.

Not sure I can make it to the Premier, will see if I can work something out...
It is unlikely that the good of a snail should reside in its shell: so is it likely that the good of a man should?

Really was mostly me. by priestess (4.00 / 1) #4 Tue Dec 17, 2013 at 05:53:45 PM EST
I learned a bit of how to use Blender to make a few computer game characters three or so years ago. Eg: My band's xmas pirate game:

And using Blender was fun. It's really an awesome bit of software.

So just over two years ago I started playing with some sketches and ideas, then properly wrote a script over the xmas back then.

I did get a friend to look over the script and add many jokes, which he did awesomely.

An actress type friend and her friend from acting school came and did the voices in a day in March 2012.

Then I've been animating alone since then really.

Music is from a royalty-free music-for-your-movies place.

The final sound edit I got help from the guy whose studio we used to record the voices.

It's taken me about an hour for every second of the 35 minute movie, give or take.

Hope you can make it, be cool to see you, but I understand new babies can be pretty time consuming eh?

And sound-effects mostly from, plus a fair amount of me abusing vegetables and slashing around in batter and what not here in the flat in front of a microphone.

There's more freesound users on the credits list than anyone else.

Top work there.

Unlikely to make it to the premiere, but best of luck anyways.

Shame you can't come to the premier, shaping up to be a great evening and it'd be nice to see you again.
