Many thanks. For the books, of course, and the CD (I love chant, and am less familiar with Byzantine than the western styles of course). But mostly for the very kind words that came with.
I'm sure the discussion group at the church will be interested in some of the 2nd century texts. I'll be re-reading them myself anon. When I was in college and curious about these things, I spent much of my spare time on Tier 2 of the university library, reading everything in the BX section of the Library of Congress classification (ancient Christian and medieval Catholic theology & history). I read most of this stuff then, but that's been nearly 40 years ago now, and, as it is written, time heals all wounds.
This is an amazing community we have here.
I seem to have overdone the bike thing, riding 15 miles round trip to toxicfur's house on the 4th of July. There's an odd pain on the outside of my hip that's moslty uncomfortable only getting in and out of the car, when the leg is out to one side, bent, and supporting most of my weight. I've been out once since, taking it easy riding around the neighborhoods. Feels fine when I'm pedaling. *shrug*.
The week is ended. Thanks be to God.
