Your attendance at PHLHusi is requested and required. Sunday evening, 24 June 2012.

I'm thinking we should call for a repeat once the McClockys are all moved in.

Update [2012-6-19 15:13:28 by ana]: That time again is 7:00 pm, give or take.

Details are discussed here. Basically southwest corner of Rittenhouse Square, where I gather there's a statue of mrgoat a goat.

Here's a google map link. (Note that neither the A pin nor the green arrow is in the southwest corner of the park.)

I suppose we should swap cell phone numbers and possibly email addresses via PM or something.

At least the forecast is good (so far); the heat wave should be on the way down by then.

In other news, lm, please to check your PM box. I'll be stuffing into it Right Soon Now.

i'll be there. by aphrael (2.00 / 0) #1 Tue Jun 19, 2012 at 10:20:32 AM EST
and i'll PM everyone who is going my cell phone as i'm not going to be online-accessible after I leave NYC that morning. (dumb phone afficionados FTW :))

also, maybe a picture or short description of everyone so we know what we all look like? :) since i've only met ana before, i'm a bit in the dark for how to identify people in a public square. :)

apparently. :-)

Also among my doppelgänger is Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury.

Oddly... by ana (2.00 / 0) #4 Tue Jun 19, 2012 at 11:03:03 AM EST
while the article mentions his "very distinguished record," it fails to identify him as the current Archbishop.

He was in a documentary by mmangino (4.00 / 1) #5 Tue Jun 19, 2012 at 11:29:30 AM EST
He was one of the people in the BBC documentary Planet Earth.

I'm pretty public with my info. My cell is 773.259.0145 and my email is mmangino@elevatedcode.com, but I don't check email on weekends. I'm the one in the green shirt in this photo: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150310589086367&set=t.12451752&type=3&theater

We're actually going to be in town by LoppEar (4.00 / 1) #7 Tue Jun 19, 2012 at 05:50:19 PM EST
looking at apartments and whatnot. We have dinner plans with the wife's new faculty-mates at 6pm so won't be meeting you at the appointed location, but are staying somewhere nearish to there and will try to find out where you all are, likely between 8 and 9.

Philly!

I'd forgotten by ana (2.00 / 0) #8 Tue Jun 19, 2012 at 05:52:25 PM EST
you-all were moving to Philly. Soon there'll more Philly husi-folk than Boston has.

I think the plan is to find a restaurant/bar in the neighborhood and hang out, yeah.

Oh oh oh by yankeehack (4.00 / 1) #9 Tue Jun 19, 2012 at 07:06:15 PM EST
Rittenhouse? Oh the scene of many of my debaucheries as it were.

Come to think of it, as things are going, I might bring LO with me.

Experience? Only her hairdresser knows for sure. ;-)

Perhaps you'll be helpful picking a place to eat.

We're a pretty tame crowd, in my experience. The youngster would be welcome.

we're definitely an "adult" crowd, but a fairly tame one, and everyone likes kids. :)

Can't make it this time by miker2 (4.00 / 1) #12 Wed Jun 20, 2012 at 09:07:35 AM EST
since I'll be out of town Sunday, but next time I'm game.

Wait, so final count for dinner by yankeehack (2.00 / 0) #13 Wed Jun 20, 2012 at 07:12:12 PM EST
if we have a big-ger party, it may be harder to find a place. But there are two great places nearby. I wouldn't necessarily go on the Square as it is loud and noisy and all seafood/fanc

Twenty Manning which has space for a large party according to Open Table at 7:30....

Or Friday Saturday Sunday

Next best is a.kitchen which is highly rated, but doesn't have an opening until 8:30.

On the other hand, if you want cheap and easy, there are helluva lots of other options like the BBQ place on South, Chinatown and about any other option you'd want.

I'm easy. by ana (2.00 / 0) #15 Wed Jun 20, 2012 at 09:40:07 PM EST
I'd think availability at 7:30 would be good.

As for a count, I have aphrael, you (yh), LO, mmangino, myself, and I dunno about devtrash. So 5, unless we hear from devtrash.

Could you make the reservation?

Loppear and MrsEar will join us later, after dinner, so possibly planning on adjourning to a bar or something would be good.

OK by yankeehack (4.00 / 1) #16 Thu Jun 21, 2012 at 05:33:55 PM EST
Well OpenTable changed again and 20Manning wasn't available. I made reservations for The Dandelion at 7:30.

Get this, it's a British Gastro pub, which may be very appropriate. If Sunday comes and we want to go elsewhere, no biggie.
