You go Newt!

Yeah that is weird.

I just finished reading the "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked a Hornets Nest".  I loved these books.  They were all great. Sorry to hear that the author past away.

I have to go vote "NO! HELL NO!" for amendment 1.  Some religious leaders are really whacked in the head and the abuse of power given to them as a leader figure sucks. Stupidheads!

I got an email this week telling me (and my coworks) that we are getting booted out of our offices the week of the Democratic Convention. We are either going to be working from home that week (crossing my fingers for that one) or we will be working in a conference room as a one, big group. That will suck.

So I picked out my mother's day gift and planned what I want to do for that day. And then my husband asked me "WHY didn't I go ahead and buy my own present and save him the trouble of even doing that?" jerk.

Just heard a friend of mine is in the hospital after emergency surgery. She is doing better. She had a tumor in her stomach that rapidly grew and needed to be removed. That is scary. I will need to go see her tomorrow.

Going to another concert this weekend. Carolina Rebellion in Rockingham, NC. It should be a lot of fun. "That's the biggest black butt I've ever seen and I like it."  Foxy Shaz. He will be there.

That is all for now. Later tater.

ammoniacal Spell Checking App!!!

You really need to get on that.  And it definitely needs to reply its results in that snarky ammoniacal tone.

I would pay for an App like that. ;)

Spell-check wouldn't have helped you there.

As a man and a husband and a son and a father by lm (4.00 / 5) #2 Thu May 03, 2012 at 05:46:47 AM EST
I'm still trying to figure out exactly how it came to be that husbands became responsible for buying their spouses gifts on Mother's Day.

you never refer to your wife as 'mom' by the mariner (4.00 / 2) #5 Thu May 03, 2012 at 09:02:41 AM EST
or something like that? hell, i call my wife things along those lines and strictly speaking we don't even have a kid yet.

besides, kids are too poor to give their mother's anything worth a damn, so how else are women supposed to collect presents in may? claim they have two birthdays or something?

Call me a prude if you like by lm (2.00 / 0) #13 Fri May 04, 2012 at 07:16:34 AM EST
But I find that the idea of calling my wife by the name `Mom' has a large ick factor.

As for kids being ``too poor'', well, I suppose that such would be true if the only gifts that have any value are the ones that have monetary value.

Good point by prestidigitizer (4.00 / 1) #6 Thu May 03, 2012 at 10:11:24 AM EST
The only thing I do for my wife for Mother's Day is badger the kids to do something for her on Mother's Day, and in some cases assist them when they come up with something they can't quite manage on their own.

Otherwise, I'm busy showing my appreciation to my mom.

I'm also a fan of Steig Larssen by nathan (4.00 / 2) #8 Thu May 03, 2012 at 02:27:04 PM EST
He drew much-needed attention to the international billionaire Nazi sex rings that plague Sweden. Without his courageous journalism, would anyone have ever known the truth? Truly an American icon.
