The latest single malt to cross my path "Lagavulin 1995 distilller's edition".

I stumbled upon this in my local Tesco with £20 off. So for £49.95 instead of £69.95, and notwithstanding my reservations about Tesco's ongoing support for the Zionist entity and how my purchase might contribute indirectly to the oppression of my Palestinian brothers, I thought "why not?"

It comes across to me as a sort of sweeter Talisker, without the overpowering medicinal flavour of the standard Lagavulin, and also with less smoke/peat than the Talisker.

My verdict: very nice, but a little pricey.

and the contribution it makes to my goal of turning this place into an alcohol review site, but i can't accept your tacit support for a regime bent on the subjugation of an ancient people in the service of tribal/religious fanaticism.

It took £20 ? by marvin (2.00 / 0) #7 Thu Oct 18, 2012 at 10:24:44 AM EST
I would have guessed that the threshold for throwing your Palestinian brothers under the bus was much, much lower than that. Maybe five pence.

Do I now? by marvin (2.00 / 0) #17 Thu Oct 18, 2012 at 06:17:39 PM EST
The amount matters far less than the fact that you have  a threshold in the first place. Once you can be bought, price is negotiable.

If you're going to drink something from Diageo by BadDoggie (4.00 / 1) #21 Thu Oct 25, 2012 at 12:21:42 PM EST
Have a Caol Ila. Not the specials, the 12-year (excellent even if artifically coloured). Find a specialty shop and try some of the Edradour makes, especially the port and the cask strength. Bowmore is also still independent and nice, and they're doing dozens of special versions.

woof.
