For the terminally pedantic, I have bought a gearset. It comes without a box to put it in. But I already have a box, and they rarely break at the back near the gears anyway - the crank is more likely to throw a rod out of the front. Crankcases are available second hand - 800 Euros. The gearbox is available new. You don't want to know what it costs.
Prices for spares for this bike are rising and have never been cheap. A new cylinder head (if available) is a couple of thousand Euros. There's currently a feeding frenzy on eBay. A chap bought a bike, from a dealer. It was in very good, usable condition. He took it home, took it apart and is selling all the bits, seperately. The tank and plastics went for about 1100 quid in total.
Laverdas were quite cheap in the late 80's and early 90's. Bikes that needed expensive parts (like an ignition box) were broken for spares. Now they are rarer, and more expensive. But the bits are worth more...
Laverda made about 7100 triples. I guess about 3000 are left. That number is reducing steadily.
