A set of short notes and a weird poll

On a scale of 1 to 10, how bored do you have to be to read this diary? 6

...The Good
Fortunately job with $employer1 is going very well; customer was cross 3 weeks ago, but rapidly solving the issues which made the site unusable appears to have p

...The Bad
I am doing two jobs but am not finding the hours to do the second one. The task was more difficult than I envisaged, so it is taking longer, but the new code is about 1/3 the size and faster with exactly the same functionality.

This is causing some friction with $employer2. I have got to the stage where it is 95% complete but 100% useless without finishing the other 5%.

...The Ugly
I am trying to get a much better paid job not too far from Canary Wharf. Unfortunately getting into it may need a rapid departure from job #1, but the 90% increase in salary may allay my misgivings. However all previous attempts to grab this particular bird in the bush have ended in failure.

Googling oneself
I used to be on the second page of Google results when my name was typed in. Out of curiousity I tried the same trick recently and have got to page 35 of the results without a reference to me. One of my distant friends has references to him turn up in 275 out of the first 300 results - I am teh envious. Before you ask, he does not have a criminal record and is not in politics.

RIP Washing Machine
I have had one of those Dyson CR-01 machines and it has lasted until it stopped seconds into a wash reporting a fault. One of Mr Dysons engineers came out and said a) the drum was screwed and b) since they don't make them any more it wasn't economical to repair and c) because of the difficulty/impossibility in getting a replacement drum, the machine was fucked. So this weekend involves the exciting task of picking up a new one.

not that bad a read. Thanks.
Life is good when you are young. Then it sucks when you are old. And then you die. Live it while you got it.
