Hello! Wanna give me your idea for a cool derby name? Do it!

Well the time may finally be here to start thinking about a roller derby name for myself. If I pass my test in three weeks then I will need to put in my choices (three) for a derby name. It's a pretty annoying sort of process, first we check here at Two Evils to see what the rating is for similarities. If it is high or very high the league will not even put the name in, unless we can contact the skater who has the similar name and verify that they don't mind said similarity.

Then we have to wait for two to four months to find out if our name which wasn't taken when we checked has been taken in the mean time or if we actually got it. So I need lots of ideas. Throw em' at me.

I think you all know that I sort of a have a star theme going, I'm a little bit married to it, but that doesn't mean it has to have the word star in it specifically, just on the theme of. Also if there were some other really stellar name which somehow suited me I would think about using it still. I sort of like littlestar to tell you the truth but CBB doesn't think it's kick ass enough, I do also kinda like star scream. I liked death star too but there is already one. I also liked Porn Star (quite a bit actually it makes me laugh) but I wouldn't want to deal with my parents and brother and blah blah blah. So, you know, just throw it all out there.

All the usuals: by technician (4.00 / 1) #1 Fri Jun 24, 2011 at 06:31:08 PM EST
Death Star, Star Destroyer, anything with Stella (Stella Striker!) Stellar Stalker, Estrella Sin....

....Estrella Sin is nice, though you are blond and sort of slavic. I don't see it listed at

Death star by littlestar (4.00 / 1) #3 Fri Jun 24, 2011 at 07:44:57 PM EST
was suggested to me earlier and I really like it but sadly it's taken. Estrella Sin is kinda neat,  is that a play on someone's name? I have ignorance. (Though I'm not slavic, scandinavian would be closer, but technically I'm baltic.) Don't feel silly to write out the usuals, what are the usuals?

is star in Spanish, and Sinning is universal.

The usuals would be any sci fi based name. I really like Estrella, though, as a name. Had a girlfriend called Estrella when I was 10.

She insisted that her last name was Bat. Like the animal. It wasn't, but I called her StarBat anyway.

A Pipistrelle is a bat.

Hmmm, feels like it should point towards some possible names...

There's a class of stars known as Cataclysmic Variables... perhaps you can do something with that.

is the best. if littlestar doesn't want it, then when we get stacky mc clocky or misslake to start rollerderby-ing they should take it.

I do like very much by littlestar (2.00 / 0) #24 Fri Jul 08, 2011 at 08:17:39 AM EST
but it's very long. You have to think about how the name sounds being called out by the mc guy, and he calls them out all long and cool and whatnot. The name has to be short enough for him to lengthen one syllable as you skate around or are being cool or whatever reason he is saying your name. Know what I mean? Think of the "are you ready to rumble" it's the RUUUUUUUUMMMMMMBLE. Twinkle twinkle kill doesn't really suit being called out plus it would be hard to fit it on the shirt. But, I'm not ruling anything out yet. I am LOVING all the names people are coming up with.

the more snark, pun, violence and sex you can get in the name the better

I am only aware of roller derby's existence, beyond that  I know nothing.

Good to know the Bond women names would work.
