Anonymous versus voting machines

So the Montreal Canadiens have played crap hockey this year. This is unacceptable in a province where hockey has long since supplanted Catholicism as the state religion.

Fixing the real problem is impossible, they're overpaying too many plugs. Can't trade ourselves into a better spot, who's going to accept trades for guys not worth their contract?

So let's fire the coach, that'll create some breathing room and maybe a miracle will occur and everything will be fine.

So far it's typical, but here's the Quebecois twist - new interim coach doesn't speak French. So the professional French Language Is Dying trolls go to work, the Quebec media cheerfully reports this and faps along, and the English Canadian media gleefully reports about french xenophobia and faps along too.

The guys on the US sports sites think it's all pretty funny. Perhaps I'll use my Illuminati connections to appoint a new head coach for the Yankees or the Red Sox. An impeccable baseball genius, a paragon of coaching... who only speaks Spanish.

I see the Repubs are butthurt about the possibility of Anonymous tinkering with the primary voting. I hope Anonymous rapes those voting machines so spectacularly that people finally start asking questions about the wisdom of letting computers count votes with no paper trail. Yeah I know, too optimistic, they'd just leave the flawed systems in place and throw a little security theatre on top.

I sort of wonder by Driusan (2.00 / 0) #1 Tue Dec 20, 2011 at 10:34:40 AM EST
What would happen if an NHL team (perhaps the Habs) appointed a unilingual Russian to coach their team, then he went on a winning streak. Would anyone complain?

Vive le Montréal libre.

Pretty much the same as if a francophone went on a winning streak, then.

Vive le Montréal libre.
