I think that's the last time I have to do a round trip between $smallcity and Chicago over a weekend. I certainly hope so.

Some annoying things I've had to do recently:

1) Prepare to say so long to my job and go back to school. Irksome!
2) Attend mandatory (and fun) evening social events, but then leave them to go back to work, because that's how things are in modern life. Irksome!
3) Skip meals. Irksome!
4) Eat meals I didn't really want to eat. Irksome!
5) Be away from my family for the fourth summer in a row. Irksome!
6) Regs. 1.1502-36 in exhaustive detail. Irksome!
7) With two very nice exceptions involving a certain reader of this site, not talk to anyone socially or do anything pleasant on my own for the fourth summer in a row. Irksome!

Mostly petty annoyances, but taken together, they're more than enough to put me in a thoroughly unpleasant mood. After I go home today (8:00? 9:00?), I am not going to drink alone, even though I have plenty of wine, because that would be hella crass. But I am going to wish that I did.

And I've been traipsing all over on the weekends. Congrats on the weights tournament, those lifts are astonishing (to me, anyway.)

I've been back under the bar... by gzt (2.00 / 0) #10 Tue Jul 13, 2010 at 10:00:11 AM EST
...for a little over a year and a half. But, still: lifting less than crossfitter means you're weak. Well, I might beat them on the power lifts.

I assume you weren't defeated by nathan (2.00 / 0) #11 Tue Jul 13, 2010 at 10:59:14 AM EST

...olympian Natalie Burgener (nee Woolfolk). She did 95 - 110 at the nationals this year, so I'm caught up on the jerk.

I'm not alone. I've a house full of guests.

That's a shame. by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #7 Tue Jul 13, 2010 at 07:32:48 AM EST
But I'd rather go without than drink alone. I bought a glass of wine in an airport pub on my own a couple of weeks ago. That's probably the nearest I've come to drinking alone.
