I was going to write about my dental procedure today, but aside from the smell, it was not all that bad.  I even did it sans nitrous.  This whole deal is gonna go into next year because my max insurance is around 1600 and I'm gonna meet that for sure.  My dentist is confident that what remains can wait til January.

Instead of the dental stuff, I am posting something I received thru Gmail, from one D. Cobb.  It was an attachment, I've extracted the text for you here.  There was no subject and nothing in the body of the email.

To my eye it seems a bit incomplete, like some idea was there, and then just like that disappeared.

Danny Cobb was a cocksucker.  Not in the literal sense, he'd beat you silly and let you lie bleeding in the gutter if you even thought that about him.  No, he was a bastard, a jackass, he was mean, he was a criminal, he was just plain bad.

But he didn't start out like that, none of us really start out the way we become, and Danny was no different.  Danny's childhood was simple.  His father was a raging alcoholic.  His mother was a good Catholic girl who had married Danny's father to save him from himself.  What she got for her troubles was broken bones and broken spirits.  The broken bones stopped the day after Danny turned three.

By the time Danny was fifteen his nose had been broken at least six times, and his ass was almost constantly black and blue.  The beatings and the anger from his father changed him for sure, but not in the way you would think.  He took no shit from anyone outside of his family but he did not seek to beat anyone.  At fifteen, the beatings from his father stopped, mainly because Danny had grown three inches over the last year and while his father was drunk and mean, he was not stupid.  Danny was fully prepared to fight his father if he started up on his mother again.  He didn't get the chance to do so, the booze finally took its toll and two months before Danny's sixteenth birthday, he became the sole provider of income for the Cobb family.

It was this life change that more than anything that pushed Danny onto the cocksucker path in life.  Danny looked for legitimate work of course, but so was everyone else in the neighborhood.  He worked hard for about a week before getting fired for something that was not even remotely his fault.  Rent was due soon, and the pantry was soon to be bare.  He did what he had to do.

Trouble was, Danny was terrible at thieving and he was caught.  Oh, not by the police, that would have probably been better for him, but by the local boss of the crime syndicate.  Suffice it to say, this lead to about three years of moderate criminal activity that pushed Danny further along the path to being a cocksucker, but more importantly it lead to his mother not being hungry and the rent being paid.  So in Danny's eyes, it was a justified means to the end.

Danny would have most likely died doing jobs for the boss, but one day a law and order guy was elected to some office, and oddly enough the law and order started to rain down onto Danny's neighborhood. One day while pulling some minor heist that even the local cops would have ignored in normal times, Danny was busted and sent in front of one these law and order type judges.  Judge Henry P. Oldsacken, was ready to sentence Danny to ten years of hard labor, as that was what the people wanted to see, and what the people wanted the judge was willing to give.  Fortunately for Danny, the assistant prosecuting attorney was looking for small time hard time serving criminals to become informants, to help bust the larger crime syndicate that was ruining the fine city.

... the idea that Danny Cobb is actually a bit of a prick. Works even better when the other stories set him up as a hero.

That was the first thing that popped into my head when I read the original posting.  Sadly every weekend I planned to write, I had a headache/toothache ( which is being taken care of now ) so it didn't go anywhere.
