I figured out how to put audiobooks on my Ipod. There was a box I wasn't checking off somewhere. The Brown Line train is quiet enough for them, but the Red Line and busses are too loud. Maybe the new headphones will be better once I get them. I was thinking about this in terms of trying to learn Spanish or something. I'm on the train twice per day, mostly the Brown Line, and don't have much success with reading on the train. I purchased the Platiquemos course a couple years ago, the "everything on one DVD" version was on sale for a very decent price by the author who has now unfortunately died. I haven't gotten around to using it because I've been up to other stuff. It would be a pity to never use it. But you also have to keep in mind that if you don't use the language, you never really learn it.
My giant sack of protein arrives today if somebody is home for it.
I have a bit of trepidation about training today. The squat will be very heavy.
I was worried for a minute that I had done something wrong because a bunch of people disappeared and I didn't know where they went. However, they had, in fact, disappeared, so it's all good. Not for them, I guess.
Teh Wife is out tonight. I think I will systematically review what resources I have and what resources I will need to accomplish some of my goals for the year. Do some basic planning. And clean off my desk. Or I might just watch some TV. And clean off my desk. Either way, clean off my desk. Crap, I didn't do my resume over the weekend. Maybe I'll do it at work tomorrow. I'm already thinking about compelling narratives to describe what I do, how awesome I am at it, and how that means I am exactly the sort of person for that position I'm applying for. Blah. This is all crap. I wish it were possible to just implant in people's minds that I'm a bright person who will do this stuff in an excellent manner and it will suit me better than my current role without having to jump through all these stupid hoops and play stupid games.
NOW: that was written at work. For some reason, HuSi wasn't behaving at work, so I sent it to myself and am posting it from home. So I will continue:
I did the squats at 380# just fine. I got out of work late, so I got to training late, so I got home from training late, so I didn't get much done tonight. I did, however, listen to this set of video interviews with Charles Staley, which was quite informative and entertaining.
