Welsh Girl and I have been sick for days. She was bad and me not so much now I'm bad and her not so much. Either way, we've been sick for days.

The worst part of it for me is that my voice keeps going out. Now, those of you who know me know that I'm not really a quiet man. So imagine my sadness at being little more than a low rasp. :( And, of course, I can't make a noise above middle C so singing the Despoina to sleep is totally out of the question. :(

Sunday was the Despoina's Austin birthday party. It was great. Lots of friends came and brought their kids. Food, conversation, all that good stuff... I was really worried for a bit. As you all know, I have two mothers, the mother of my birth (who the Despoina will probably call "Grandma") and the mother of my heart (who the Despoina will probably call "Aaka"). Well, Grandma doesn't like Aaka for a number of reasons having to do with the esteem in which I hold her. I was afraid of a visit by the drama llama. But Grandma came and brought sausage and balloons to the party and had a good time. And the Despoina snagged a great trove of loot.

At the party, she took a single step. Yesterday, she started taking multiple steps. Wow. By the time Mrs. Star, Little attempts to eat her cheeks, she may be able to run away...

All of a sudden I have nothing more to say, even though my head was swimming with things when I started this. Let me finish with this final thought: I'm not sure how I feel about this new change to Scrabble. I know it's not coming to the USia or Canuckistan but both the gamer and the snob in me say it's just wrong.

That, for now it all.

You use Aaka IRL, now it's a Scrabble word. by ammoniacal (2.00 / 0) #1 Wed Apr 14, 2010 at 03:48:25 AM EST
Not seeing your problem there.

especially if you have a low register and the baby's up against your chest/shoulder, will be almost as nice for her.

I hope it passes soon. We've all been sick since Christmas, when my idiot brother decided we needed to share his plague because we pissed him off, and none of us has had a full night's sleep since and can't manage to fight it off.

It just makes it more fun when the are running, I like a challenge!

I too have been afflicted with an infection of chest/cold types. Suckerdoodles. Although as a singer it means I can try to do things that I can't do with a normal voice, the Tom Waits really comes out. : ) I am not going to work hard on sleeping that I am fine for my trip.
Can't wait to see you guys!!
