Today everything Toronto came into sharp focus when I was trying to head to the library to get some things done. My way was breifly and delightfully interrupted by the St. Patrick's day parade. There, after the ambulances, shriners and irish dance schools, in between the local associations of County Donegal and County Armagh was the Philippine Heritage Marching Band, playing Ricky Martin.

I love this city. I love the way everyone, Irish, Phillipino, Canadian or whatever, from Northern Ireland or from the Irish Republic, we all have a place here and we can all march together.

i dedicate all the capital letters in this diary to racial and ethnic harmony everywhere.

Until recently, the only intolerable place to spend it was Ireland.

I only lived there for 6 months, but it was great. I liked the transit, and the city planning, and all the support cases I've ever had with Torontonians have been very nice, even urgent ones.
