Hate Net Nanny.

Would not suggest Water Intoxication.

Traveling  and found it amusing that the 3 star hotel that sells porn in the rooms has net nanny set on the business center computers for alcohol and tobacco sites. is coded as an alcohol site.
I laughed. We  certainly can't have kids in the business center access alcohol or tobacco sites.
The Hilton corp has some strange priorities.

Recoving still from drug testing last week.
Rather than miss the opportunity n get kick back when I couldn't sample,  I downed a bit of water.

Maybe too much water. Okay way too much water but I had to go and yet couldn't.

When my sample spilt the person who had been watching me take a piss  told well you have to give another  handing me another cup as if I was a fountain of gush but  I couldn't.

Every 10-15  min it seemed the person came back to waiting room and finally told the waiting room person that one over there better have a glass of water in their hand at all times. So I drank some more and then some more and then some more.

Got really afraid I would not sample in time which would delay my application. Got a little blurry visioned and floaty and I thought wow this is odd. Felt almost buzzed.

Sampled out right before closing after having drank 16-17 10-12 ounce cups of water in a 4-5 hr period.
Thought I shall piss all fricking night but it's worth it.
Felt bad but happy to have sampled and went on my way.

Half hour later  the violent upchucking n mega headache hit.

Next came the about to pass out feeling.
Made a call realizing  was about to go down for the count and something was really wrong.

Rushed to ER.  I had water intoxication. I had saline water pumped into me and was given  potassium . Was given some kind of mixture into my IV to help me from doing the old heave ho after throwing up on the floor of the ER area over and over.

Dr drilled me on why I had drank that much water and when I mentioned couldn't piss for drug test I kept being asked what were you trying to dilute out of your system.  Without telling me those bastards drug tested me and of course it came back negative for everything . They then came back announcing with perplexed tone well you came back negative on everything. Duh.They said it was neccesary to test because they had to know what they were dealing with.

Great when you Dr doesn't trust what ya say to them.

Dr said everyone denies using illegal drugs.
Few tested under such conditions as mine would come back 100% clean for everything he tried to tell me.
I felt like heaving up on him.

Next he gave me the whole you could have killed yourself with all this water drinking to piss what were you thinking that it was stupid to do.

How did I miss that ?

Don't we alI live to be stripped of our clothes wearing nothing but some ugly gown that covers jack with IVs  and other needles stuck in us while vommiting with such grace that one could almost give Regan from the Exorcist a run for her money. I let him know I just couldn't go as I should have.

They sent me for more tests.
Then they realized I had something wrong with urinary track.

Water intoxication is even less fun than alcohol intoxication suggest ya pass on it.

If Ya can't go and ya gotta for a drug test , think of waiting  and come back another day before you over fluid yourself.

Too much water can be dangerous.
You are worth the wait.

drug tests? pass. by BadDoggie (4.00 / 2) #1 Mon Mar 01, 2010 at 10:55:27 PM EST
Never. Never ever ever. I have and will continue to refuse any and all offers and contracts from any company with a drug testing requirement, even if it doesn't apply to me or my class.

Why are you not suing 1) the company for endangerment; 2) the testing company for endangerment; 3) the hospital for violations of privacy and disclosure failure?

This is just another incarnation of a really twisted user.

A purpose gives you a reason to wake up every morning.
So a purpose is like a box of powdered donut holes?

It passes the vaguely entertaining test.

Why are drug tests an invasion of privacy? by frog (2.00 / 0) #5 Tue Apr 06, 2010 at 07:27:43 PM EST
Shouldn't we all want the illegal drugs to be stopped?

The company I work my non-paying gig  with does random drug tests on top of the initial one. I was one of three who was selected this last week for random UA under the organization's policies.
My issue is why can't they just take blood for God's sake. Just one little prick and you are done.

Due to my little ER visit I now  have the ability to suck on a sponge test in lieu of pissing on command if I just can't go after an hour. I did not get stuck with the $1,800 bill.  If I had there would be a suit.

I thought the right to privacy ended under  George W Bush.

Because of the 13th and 14th Amendments by BadDoggie (2.00 / 0) #6 Thu Apr 08, 2010 at 04:19:03 PM EST
You do not work for them around the clock, they do not pay you to work around the clock, unless your employer is a branch of the existing military structure operating under the UCMJ they cannot enfore their rules on you during your off hours. You may drink like a fish the instant your day is over as long as your BAC is under anything between 0.00% (pilots) and 0.05% once you show back up for work the next shift.

Your willingness to accept such privacy invasions and outrageous demands speaks volumes and says more than I need to about why I left.l

The 13th Amendment abolished literal slavery.
The 14th protects individual against the infringement of their rights against the state - not against a potential employer.

Wouldn't the arguement that drug testing goes against the implied right to privacy possibly implied by the courts from the 9th Amendment be a stronger arguement that the 13th and 14th Amendments?

Or maybe it could be seen as violation of the 5th Amendment since they are using bodily products from one's self to gather self incriminating materials against one?

But I do not believe at this point any state in America has determined anyone really has any real right to work. Though maybe it could be implied under the right to life phrase....
