Help!
By Big Sexxxy Joe (Sat Feb 20, 2010 at 04:28:17 PM EST) (all tags)
Hi,

I might have a project that involves creating a custom Java web application for someone.  However, I think they will need someone to host it for them though.  Can anyone recommend anything?  How much would you pay for that kind of thing?

Thank you kindly in advance,
Big Sexxxy Joe

P.S.
What's a good rate to charge as a free lance Java developer?  (If you don't know you can still answer, say you don't know but say what sounds good to you.)

30 bucks per private class.  10% more if jini or jikes is involved.

You're pretty much going to have to find a deal where you basically set up the box yourself if you want it to actually work.  I'm guessing those cost $$$.

For what to charge, I would say estimate it honestly but tight, meaning you think it's realistic but slightly optimistic, then $100 * hours.  More than that if they can afford it, but that's pretty much a lower bound on being worth it or not worth it, unless there's strategery involved like the promise of future work or a job or something...  If you can't get $100 an hour before padding and procrastination it's not worth it.

PS: If you get in the weeds and need help at some point...  :)

man, i need a beefy taco now.
