I diddled around for a bit but was still in the car at 7:30. Traffic was light. I even went 10 miles under the limit. Still got into the parking lot with 15 minutes to spare. Went in anyway.
It is one of the items that consistently shows up on my annual review. "Always on time, greatly appreciated."
I expected that being away for that week of time would have me flush with work. It did not. I took my time doing the one item that had come back, and that I had quoted for 3 hours. Lots of text changes, mostly related to the date being not 2009 anymore. Oh and pricing changes. Anyone who says there is no inflation is lying.
So November of this year I'll be at my present employer for 5 years. That bumps the vacation time up to 3 weeks. THREE whole weeks. I've struggled to get thru the 2 weeks I'm allotted now. This past year, I dunno, it was October and I realized I needed to use some time or lose it. I still am carrying over 2 days.
I kinda planned it that way in 2009 as I was expecting to need the time to interview and stuff, but that never materialized.
So I if I make it to 5 years, and I get 3 weeks, well that works out pretty well since '11 is HusiStock 11, and well 2.5 weeks to explore a whole new country would be nice. But that's like planning ahead and stuff and I don't like to do that. I don't do that because I hate disappointment. So let's put that in the back of the burner and remember it when it is boiling over, shall we?
Reading George Carlin's autobiography. You can sorta tell it was put together from pieces. Relates one funny or important piece per chapter. Already up the point where he's married and done Merv Griffin.
Read January's issue of PA Game News. January's issue is always about how the Commission is fulfilling it's legislated mission.
Going to try to get my hair cut at the new place in town during my lunch. They open at noon and take walk-ins. I'm a guy so no more than 10 minutes to cut. Tuesday is Men's Day so 10 bucks should cover it.
Anyway. Off to bed. Brrr it's cold out there.
