or "my Pandora station for quiet, sad evenings at home".

Plus, fun YouTube links.

I find that Pandora is most useful when you create stations from songs as opposed to from artists.  This one station has led me to some really excellent finds, which those of you who are more tuned into pop may find old hat but were certainly not on my radar before a couple months ago.  Three faves:

Busby Berkley Dreams, The Magnetic Fields
Ignore the amateur-produced video and just listen to the song unless you want serious cognitive dissonance.

High and Low, Greg Laswell
Apparently if you watch Smallville you already know this song.  I don't, so I didn't.

Love Letter, Nick Cave

Some also rans include "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" by Elton John and "Meeting Across the River" by the Boss.  One of the 400 attributes in the Musical Genome Project is "heartbreaking lyrics" and I think that's what all these have in common.

I did promise fun YouTube links, not just sad songs, but I really only had one in mind:

The J-Class yacht Shamrock V sailing off Greece.  I wish they showed more maneuvers and what happens on deck during them, but it's still fun.

One of the better Taupin/John numbers. "Meeting Across the River" is off of Born To Run. "Jungleland" is my favorite cut off of that album.

Earth First!
(We can strip mine the rest later.)
