Oh No!

Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh,

The Pug is at Doggie Daycare and its just me and the Cat at home today.  Strangely quiet.

Black and orange stray cat sittin' on a fence

I've got so much work to do and no enthusiasm for it what so ever.  I imagine this will pass too.

Ain't got enough dough to pay the rent

Many of my friends are unemployed.  Its a real bummer, some of them have been out for almost a year. These aren't no-talent slackers either.

I'm flat broke but I don't care

Actually, with the wife getting a new job (at the old company) we are looking okay.  They essentially paid her for a 4 month vacation.  Idiots.

I strut right by with my tail in the air

Some summer projects I need to get into.  My garage doors need painting and I should replace both of the screen doors.  One is ancient and the other is shot.

Stray cat strut, I'm a ladies' cat,

The state of the old marriage is actually pretty good.  Had my 10 year anniversary a week or so ago.  Been with her for 17.

A feline Casanova, hey man, thats where its at

I do need some decompression time soon.  This week has been hectic and stressful.

Get a shoe thrown at me from a mean old man

My parents opened their pool, but its really been too cold to swim.  Dammit, get here summer!

Get my dinner from a garbage can

The house is bereft of food.  After the rummage sale last week we have been too busy to shop.

Yeah don't cross my path

I ended up eating a thumb-sized chunk of cheese for dinner last night.  Pathetic, really.

I don't bother chasing mice around

The damn fridge needs to be dealt with again.  Stupid freezer clogs the drain and gets water in the fridge about every three months.

I slink down the alley looking for a fight

I'm thinking some serious beer drinking while fixing my buddy Red's car tonight is in order.  Saison here I come.

Howling to the moonlight on a hot summer night

Speaking of beer, I went to Wauwautosa last night with my dad and scored beer equipment on the cheap!  Ya baby!

Singin' the blues while the lady cats cry,

The new beer equipment will let me have a kegerator at home as well as at ScottyG's.  Tap beer and seltzer here I come!

"Wild stray cat, you're a real gone guy."

Got the gear of a guy getting out of brewing, good deal too.  Everything including some kegs and a fridge for 240.

I wish I could be as carefree and wild,

It's almost time to brew again.  Going to start with our Octoberfest, so it is ready on time and when it gets hot enough, Saison!

but I got cat class and I got cat style.

I think that perhaps some more English pub ales are in order as well.

I don't bother chasing mice around

My hops are already grown up to my roof line.  Damn, they took off this year.  I hope I get lots of cones!

I slink down the alley looking for a fight

If we put up a chain link fence for the Pug, perhaps I will plant it with hops.  That would be cool.

Howling to the moonlight on a hot summer night

Wife and I are disagreeing about the fence.  She wants vinyl picket, I want chain link.

Singin' the blues while the lady cats cry,

Vinyl picket is over twice the cost of chain link.  Close to 3600 bucks.  Damn.

"Wild stray cat, you're a real gone guy."

We will have to see how it ends.  I don't want to spend that much on a damn fence for the dog.

I wish I could be as carefree and wild,

I also worry that the city won't give me a permit for a picket fence due to line of site issues on the corner.

but I got cat class and I got cat style.

Well, enough of this, back to work. Take care all.

I approve of a tap system at home by georgeha (4.00 / 1) #1 Thu Jun 04, 2009 at 10:11:53 AM EST
it's much greener too, no empties to recycle.

And actually the environmental savings will be in Seltzer bottles, not in beer bottles.  I keep all of my commercial bottles that don't have twist-offs for brewing.  But I always have a million seltzer bottles laying around.  This eliminates those.

I just gotta buy a dual-tap tower and some Perlick or Shirron forward sealing faucets and we are golden.  Well, that and a dual regulator.  Seltzer gets a LOT more pressure than beer does.

what the hell by LilFlightTest (2.00 / 0) #3 Thu Jun 04, 2009 at 07:16:38 PM EST
is with summer this year? It's freakin' June and I feel like I can't leave my houseplants out overnight yet!

also, we have a chain-link AND a picket. the chain link mostly has a virginia creeper on it, but i'm removing that bit by bit, and replacing it with Clematis. last night i had to remove some...with a hatchet (it's that bad). The picket, we grow morning glories on. they're both nice...the chain link has more potential though.

Black vinyl coated chain link by marvin (4.00 / 1) #4 Thu Jun 04, 2009 at 09:53:08 PM EST
We use it for all of our pump stations and reservoirs at work. These things tend to be on the top of hills, right next to the most expensive view lots in the neighbourhood. The black vinyl coating makes for a fairly unobtrusive fence.
