Print Story Long day today

I've been "on" since 2 am.

The boy is sick.  His fever was 102 Red-Blooded American Degrees last night.  No good.  We called the doc, etc etc etc.

He woke up at 2am and felt like a little ball of fire.  I went to bed with him.  He tossed and turned until 5am, when he puked.  His fever immediately dropped and he went right to sleep after that.  Poor guy has felt bad all day.  He just feels "warm" now, not raging-fever.  He insists on clinging to me as much as possible.  I hate to see him like this.

Call #1 from my mother - my uncle (on the McRacky side) has stage I prostate cancer.  Boo!

Call #2 from my mother - my great-aunt (on mom's side) finally died this morning.  Rest in Peace, Aunt Dot.  You will be greatly missed  :(

Call #3 from my mother - is it ok if she and my dad go to Philly for my sister's birthday/easter weekend?  Um, I really don't care.

So yeah.  Lots on my mind today.  Nothing I can do about any of it, other than hold my boy.

I made 2 diapers yesterday.  I  need to make the final one today.  Well, "want."  I probably won't get to.  Using my new machine is like learning to sew all over again (because I'm oh-so-experienced you know).  These fanci computerized sewing machines just operate differently than my ancient mechanical Singer.  It's an awesome machine, and I can't wait until we become one - I'll be cranking out all kinds of fancy clothes!

clock ordered Burda World of Fashion magazine for me for VD.  Have to wait another month or so to get my first issue.

The boy is "done" with lunch, so I must go.  I can see another hour or two of snuggling on the couch coming up.

twelve year old stayed home sick yesterday, her biggest need was ice cream, for a banana milkshake.

Caught a cold that ravaged our house last week. It got to the point where we had Megan at the emergency room Sunday as she was kind of wheezing and couldn't get a good cry going, though it turned out we sort of over reacted (RSV, and we weren't snot-sucking them out enough). Just with a cold and fever they were so pitiful, I'm not looking forward to the first throw-up sickness.

a few weeks after the hurricane the whole house came down with the stomach flu.  watching the dude be sick like that was worse than experiencing it myself.

My daughter did that "instant 102 degree" fever once, I know how traumatic that can be.
