With no particular focus (pun unintended) or theme, I've posted a new photo page of various scenes in Tokyo, taken in February 2009.

The page is here:
http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~LLLtrs/PhotoGlryMain/pgc/Iroiro200902a.html

I am often asked why I take so many pictures in trains and in train stations....  I don't aim (another unintended pun) to, but I spend so much time on the train system, that I end up taking a lot of pictures there.  Also there's the fact that, when you're waiting for trains, you often have a few minutes to do something while you wait, whereas if you're walking, you have to stop to take pictures.

I've gotten used to seeing the Japanese equivalent at work, but I've never worked in an English environment with e-mail.  This is a standard thing I presume?  Is ti always written "n/t" or is it also "NT", "N/T" or "nt"?  Maybe it's written "n/t" to differentiate it from the software "NT"?

You make me a bit nostalgic for Tokyo. I loved the izakaya places.

Izakaya by lylehsaxon (2.00 / 0) #5 Fri Mar 27, 2009 at 05:38:11 PM EST
Thanks - yeah, I always want to take more pictures in the izakaya, but it's difficult to do without being rude, so I end up with too many pictures of the table and not anything good of the inside atmosphere, which I'm always hoping to record....

Hello!  I saw the YouTube posting first and was sort of wondering how it originated.  I've been busy the past week and haven't had much time to keep up with things on-line.

Visially oriented brain.... by lylehsaxon (4.00 / 1) #10 Fri Mar 27, 2009 at 06:21:19 PM EST
Sorry about that!  I can remember what I see, but never what I hear!  (And names - even coming from visual text, are recorded in the brain as sound.)  This is naturally a problem at work, as I'll be in a meeting and say "I was talking with... ah... you know, the tall guy with glasses working on the xyz project..."

I just realized that this is why I'm always surprised to discover that the old familiar sounds I hear in my old videos from 18 years ago I can't remember until the recording reminds me.

.... sounds like a lot of excuse-making, but I really do have trouble with names.

Speaking of Facebook - I'm still trying to figure out what to do with that.  I guess once I stop trying to figure it out, it'll just become a nature part of the universe for me....
