The subject is tired, but the project wants to be completed, so I've continued editing from the tape I took on the day I visited the 1991 Tokyo Motor Show......


Looking at the Mazda display and remembering that they won the 24 Hours of Le Mans that year, I'm beginning to remember the excitement of the time.  Expensive cars had been selling well, and the manufacturers were spending a lot of money on new technologies and promotion.  The future was looking exciting and good for the car companies at the time.  Quite a different story today!

Incidentally, if I remember correctly, the four-rotor rotary engine on display might have been the actual engine used to win the Le Mans race....:
