Been watching 'How I Met Your Mother'. They all look so terribly young. And heavily made up.

It is interesting to compare to old episodes of Friends, where the characters I think were supposed to be a similar age profile but apart from Joey all look much older. The Ross character in How I Met Your Mother is much less irritating though the overall scripting misses something. Doogie Howser guy is the highlight of the show.

Looking forward to more True Blood, even if it is full of antipodeans and brits with freaky accents. Do people really speak like that in the south? It is interesting to go to a bookshop and look at the Sookie Stackhouse covers from before and after the TV show came out. Definitely some sexing-up going on.

Tried to watch some of Criminal Justice on BBC. The very white apartment freaked me out and the whole thing was just a bit too harrowing to want to stay up for every night for a week. Maxine Peake was almost unrecognisable compared to the last thing I saw her in (as Twinkle in the excellent Dinner Ladies).

Waiting for the weather to turn bad to spend an evening with the Robin of Sherwood DVDs (Michael Praed only, of course) and a decent bottle of red and a jar of olives.

comparing it to Friends, and lists as one of it's selling points that it doesn't have a Ross character in it.

It does by Merekat (2.00 / 0) #2 Fri Oct 09, 2009 at 09:11:38 AM EST
In the sense of useless bloke thinks he's in love with one of the regular female cast.
It doesn't in the sense that you're not bored to death by it.

is the ross character. and while he is the worst part of the show, he's not as bad as ross. NPH is on fire on that show.
