We had all-you-can-eat sushi at this new place for lunch while moving. It was decent for the price. I had a bunch of sashimi of various sorts and an unagi roll. Would do again for lunch on a special occasion. It's not the greatest sushi, but it's pretty good.
I have a cold. I've had it for a couple days, but I'm on the upswing.
This PeopleSoft upgrade is messing with our reporting. Frak. It's the 1st of the month, we need this stuff to run, dammit.
I'm getting better at picking out the right bass notes if there isn't another bass in the choir. I'm not in the choir, but sometimes there's nobody around so I sit in. It's easier when there's sheet music, but during the week it's often just words and a note that it's in, say, tone seven1. I also just can't hit the lowest notes. I have the lower range of a high baritone and the upper range of a bass. I usually can't go below C-below-middle-C or above middle C, though I have more leeway above than below.
I just have stuff to do. Stuff, stuff, stuff.
While we were moving, a friend of ours, one of my groomsmen, passed our U-Haul on a bike. I was, like, dude! But he was past us already. I sent him a note.
Crap, I need a fourth groomsman.
Okay. I typically don't care about weight or anything because of my active lifestyle and my quest for strength, which generally means I eat a lot and welcome gains in weight. However, given that I've had worsening heartburn lately, I think the first line of defense that I should try is losing some fat. Some lean body mass will inevitably go, too. Alas. I'm also getting married in 17 days, so there are some other motives there. Hopefully I won't get weak and die. That would be tragic. So I'll do crossfit-style things for a couple weeks and eat a little less rather than eating big and lifting big. Watch out, cam!
1: In Russian Orthodox choral music, there are a bunch of musical patterns the words are fit into. So, if you have the words for the hymn for the day's saint or whatever and know that it's in tone 7, you should not, theoretically, need any sheet music. This only works if you know the music or can figure out, based on what the harmony should sound like, what note you should be on. The latter can sometimes work well enough to fake it.
