clamo te.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I have this suspicion that there is still some hope, but there is not and never was. Never never never. It's a long slow wind down.

It's the new year. It's time for me to get working. I've been laying back the last couple weeks, spending all of my personal time after work on matters of no importance with the understanding that I'd get back on the routine and such with the new year. Not a resolution, not one of those idealist "I SHALL CHANGE (NEXT YEAR)" thoughts, but more "I'm taking a couple weeks off of doing constructive stuff at the end of the year and then will get back in the swing of things in January." I needed the break. Now I need some structure, because I'll go insane if I waste any more time. I'll also be screwed.

I do have some resolutions for 2009. One of them is to not crush my enemies. Another is to get another friggin' job, hopefully early in the year.

I ordered Chinese food last night. I didn't have a menu and thought it was free delivery, so I ordered some stuff, was quoted a price that seemed reasonable, and when the guy came I tipped him $1.50. Then I looked at the receipt and saw a $2.50 delivery charge. Drat! Maybe I didn't hit the threshold for free delivery. I didn't begrudge them the tip that much because it was January 1st and they were the only people open that I could think of. But, still. What are your thoughts on tipping when there is a delivery charge? I typically do it, but a much smaller tip than normally indicated.

I think I will make that chicken liver and caramelized onion pizza.

I watched the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV series this week. And more Star Trek. Am I turning into a sci-fi geek? I sincerely hope not. I also watched a couple episodes of Weeds to see whether it was worthwhile. It was mildly entertaining.

My ankles are sore. I did some sprinting on my way home after the party the other night to get rid of some energy. My shoes weren't really made for it. I'm fine, just a little sore. And annoyed.

I am so annoyed. But I will not crush my enemies in 2009.

You gotta get in shape by georgeha (4.00 / 1) #3 Fri Jan 02, 2009 at 07:34:56 AM EST
Too much sitting has ruined your body. Too much abuse has gone on for too long. From now on there will be 50 pushups each morning, 50 pullups. There will be no more pills, no more bad food, no more destroyers of your body. From now on will be total organization. Every muscle must be tight.

One of these days I'm gonna get organezized by gzt (2.00 / 0) #5 Fri Jan 02, 2009 at 07:55:55 AM EST

I'm told there's nothing wrong being a sci-fi geek by Dr H0ffm4n (4.00 / 1) #4 Fri Jan 02, 2009 at 07:48:42 AM EST
But it's not true. Don't believe their lies.

Or mine.

tip more. by misslake (2.00 / 0) #7 Fri Jan 02, 2009 at 03:48:14 PM EST
in my estimation, the owner or manager of a place that charges for delivery in the neighbourhood is likely to be a bit stingy.
tip more. the driver may only be getting a small cut of that fee.
