the time has come.

there are just four entries for the fourth comics fun challenge, so perhaps it would be best if you voted for just one or, at most, two.

Cheese and a Breadstick

Procrastination

Bulletproof

Connection

Voting will be open for about a week.

A little help here? by ana (2.00 / 0) #2 Tue Aug 05, 2008 at 04:22:06 AM EST
Anybody who can read, could we have a translation of "Procrastination" plzkthx?

"And this ... is a piece of Synergy." --Kellnerin

Translation by Scrymarch (4.00 / 1) #12 Wed Aug 06, 2008 at 03:21:00 AM EST
P1: Meanwhile ...
P2: Scrymarch practices writing Chinese characters
P3: A white horse is not a horse
P4: The great cow sleeps

Basically I figured so long as I am elementary school grade I may as well play with crayons as well.

P1: Water
P2: Sun and mountain
P3: Horse
P4: Cow / ox

I suppose by Gedvondur (2.00 / 0) #3 Tue Aug 05, 2008 at 05:24:33 AM EST
I suppose I had expected comics that....I dunno...at least made sense if they weren't funny or politically oriented.

But what do I know, I can't even draw.

So we've got by debacle (4.00 / 1) #4 Tue Aug 05, 2008 at 05:42:43 AM EST
A francophobic rant, some manga, a lesbian storyboard without a money shot, and some MegaTokyo/Doonesbury crossover.

And we're supposed to vote for the one we like?

Connection is fucking awesome. by ammoniacal (4.00 / 1) #5 Tue Aug 05, 2008 at 06:14:12 AM EST
However, I caught myself doing some inappropriate touching as I "read" Bulletproof.
Can't decide, and I'm only voting for one.

Also: I'm wondering why the plane in Cheese and a Breadstick is already on fire. WTF?

let me see ... by BlueOregon (4.00 / 1) #6 Tue Aug 05, 2008 at 06:35:12 AM EST

... so, "Connection" is basically what happens if you add monkeys to a Kellnerin Boston-train-ride-overheard-conversation.

"Cheese and a Breadstick" has the saving grace of more-or-less featuring a bo-bad I've been seeking a use for -- let's call it the "pain in the ass."

And "Bulletproof" passes the Bechdel Test, for:

  1. there are at least two named female characters, who
  2. talk to each other about
  3. something other than a man.

As for "Procrastination," I don't know what to make of it at this point.

Connection by Kellnerin (2.00 / 0) #17 Sat Aug 09, 2008 at 08:30:31 AM EST
What you said, and as such, I both love it and am a little weirded out by it, but mostly I love it (and wish I had written it). In retrospect it's clear that monkeys are the perfect WTF-factor to add to a Kellnerinesque story (if I may be so egotistical as to coin an adjective after my own persona), precisely because I'd never have thought of them them myself.

In addition to which: +1, good Elastica song (which was once my cell phone ringtone).

as this is the only thing there. Although I suppose previous WFC's might trip the the censor.

make me giddily at peace.

especially "pain in the ass" and the Connection cut scene and Scry's translated and Bulletproof passing the Bechdel test.
