I wish I liked WoW sometimes.

See you, space cowboy.

do that sort of thing. but the toughest boss me and my peeps ever downed was check wowwiki  Kaz'rogal. (unless you consider the first two bosses in BT tougher... or lady vashj)

all i do now is level characters to 70 and cry every time one gets there.

congrats, by the way!

oh dear, you really dont want to know... by codemonkey uk (4.00 / 2) #6 Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 10:39:43 PM EST
okay, so, as with many MMOs, most WoW raid encounters have a basic "tank/dps/heal" structure, where an enemy creature (boss) is "tanked" by a player character with a lot of hit points / armour / defence stats, healer characters heal the tank and any incidental/environmental damage, while damage dealers (dps), well, attack the boss.  All attacks cause "threat", and the dps are constrained in how much damage they do by how much "threat" the tank does, or the boss will switch targets and squish them.

in that picture, you have the "boss" (can) and the tank in the middle.  Unlike "normal" enemy npcs, you can't see the bosses "level", its shown as a skull.  The tank has low heath and is calling out to be healed "for fucks sake" (heal ffs).  Attacking the boss from behind are the melee dps,  There is an item in the game called a saviory delight that changes the appearance of your character to a ninja or a pirate.  For some reason its popular with melee dps.  Also, a feral druid in "kitty" form is with the dps.  He is a joke.  Apparently.

A trash mob is a non-boss character (probably with crap loot) and has been "sheeped" (a mage crowd control spell: polymorph).

The hunters dps from range.  Hunters are easy, apparently, and can go away from keyboard for their dinner while they leave "auto shoot" on to fire their bow/gun non stop for easy mode afk dps.

robos are the healers, just spamming 1 heal ability on 1 target, could be done by a robot

the paladins are drunk rednecks at the back doing nothing, i guess its a pretty old ytmnd

mages are watercoolers, because they can summon water which other classes drink to regain mana quickly out or combat

warlocks are also ranged dps, but tend to be "high agro", and when they overnuke, they pull agro and die

the end
