What's so wrong with being friends?

That was the text message I was greeted with today at break.  It was sent early Saturday morning.  And it was from THAT_GAL.

Apparently the fuck off, of a few weeks ago didn't actually take hold.  I've not talked to her, phoned her, IMed her, texted her, or had any other contact with her at all in the last few weeks.

And then this.  WTF.

Come on HUSI, give me your thoughts.  She's nuts?  She's got a memory problem?  She's in love?  What?

She's trying to see if you're serious. The right answer is to ignore it...

I'll take care of this, personally.

Why in that case there's nothing wrong with just being "friends", nothing at all.

If you revisit your diary of July 21, you will see that several people including clover kicker, joh3n, and anonimouse basically told you to expect this exact type of behaviour from her. She is messing with your head. She will always just be messing with your head. Either learn to ignore it or get used to frustration.

I am not what I could say to her any.

There's nothing wrong with being friends, except I'm looking for someone who wants to be more than just a friend.

Anyway she wasn't being even a good friend to you in her recent behaviour so fuck her (metaphorically).

Or why not ask her to send a naked photo of herself as "proof" of friendship or some other stupid request and  see how far you can push it?

perhaps. by dev trash (2.00 / 0) #17 Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 05:58:53 PM EST
What's the worst that could happen?

Oh she could send me a nude, and STILL not want to sleep with me.

wouldn't say she's in love by clover kicker (4.00 / 5) #9 Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 02:25:14 AM EST
I'd say she's massively insecure and craves attention.

You used to provide her with attention, and now you've cut her off. She misses that attention and her insecurity is making it that much worse, omg he should be paying attention but he's not paying attention omg why won't he talk to me?!?!?

She's actually very vulnerable right now, a skilled seduction artist could swoop in and be banging her by the weekend.

You, on the other hand, should continue to stay as far away as humanly possible, because your feelings for her make you even more vulnerable.

I'm only hearing one side of the story, she may be a decent human being to people who aren't /dev/trash, but as far as you're concerned she's pure kryptonite.

The whole relationship sounds a lot like his short story ``It's you'' except without the sex and moving in together.

Man up and put it in.

Seriously, a girl that "wants to be friends" and yet wont leave you the fuck alone wants it like Putin wants South Ossetia.

She really, REALLY wants you in reserve. by nightflameblue (4.00 / 2) #12 Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 08:13:54 AM EST
Just in case she can't get it some other way. Girls like that like to keep a string of guys hanging on the line that they can reel in one at a time when they're needing a little pick-me-up. Don't be one of those guys.

Don't say no. Don't say anything. Ignoring her is the most punishing thing you can do to her. And the most sane thing you can do to yourself.

If you respond to her in any way . . . by slozo (2.00 / 0) #13 Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 11:21:02 AM EST
. . . YOU'RE the one with the memory problem, not her.

Dear sir by jimgon (4.00 / 1) #14 Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 02:19:10 PM EST
Stay away from this person.  I'm not sure that she's craving attention, but she's definitely playing a game.  Unless you want to be abused I would suggest just deleting it and continue to delete it.  Walk away, my friend, walk away.
