I guess I made a few mistakes. I will discuss some things which weren't mistakes, or at least weren't of that magnitude.

I had a long lunch yesterday afternoon chez parents of Romanian buddy. They had some smuggled Romanian moonshine, they called it slivka. I got home sometime around 7 or 8, threw some clothes in the wash, and lay down for a moment. Next thing I knew, it was 2:30am. Crap! I was supposed to go out. 10 missed calls.

So I dicked around for a little bit and then went back to sleep. Got up late. Missed the train that gets me to work late, so I had to wait half an hour for the one that gets me there even later. I'm not having fun anymore.

Going to a game tomorrow night. It's some friend's birthday, too. We're going to introduce him to beer.

I'm still a little uneasy from the rakia.

I made a bad decision or two.

Rakia is some serious shit.  Friend of mine brought some back from Eastern Europe (a bottle of plum and one of apricot).  He won't let anyone touch the apricot because they grew the apricot in the bottle before filling it up but the plum is some stiff shit.  One shot and you're halfway to drunk...

did they smuggle it out in water bottles? by gzt (2.00 / 0) #2 Mon Jul 28, 2008 at 08:58:07 AM EST
That's what these did. But yeah, slivka is plum. No matter how much I diluted it, it still burnt like hell going down. It felt like my throat was going to slough off afterwards. I mean, they've given me the stuff before, they give it to me every time I come, but it's still harsh. This is the first time I tried watering it down, but it still didn't help. It's wild.
