CG is to the point where a full on, space opera, full blown GL Corps movie is possible. As much as I'd like to think you could make this movie from the start, it's probably asking too much to do so. So you make the first movie about Hal Jordan getting the ring, getting trained by Sinestro and eventually having to take him down, hinting at the Corps throughout, then introduce the Guardians and the Corps in the second movie.
With, say, Frodo in LOTR, the store is the journey, and what the ring does to him on this journey, not his back story. Same with the Gimli/Legolas friendship, and even Aragorn to some extent (though arguably his backstory is important).[ Parent ]
Comicbook character origins in movies are a bit funny in that the audience seems to want to see a story they already know.
Another idea I'd like to see: 3 or 4 separate 'issues' of a comic put together into one movie.[ Parent ]
He sails from world to world in a flying tomb, serving gods who eat hope.

Who else?
The Tick deserves another stab at glory... Particularly if they can get Mickey Dolenz to do Arthur's voice again. --Has anybody seen my clue? I know I had it when I came in here.
When all that anatomy stuff was fresh in memory, I probably could've done most of it without a reference, except the lighting. Another artist friend has been bugging me about doing more shading, so it was mostly an exercise for that.[ Parent ]
What makes a good comic book character isn't the superpower but the character. Some of the best comic books are about people with no superpowers at all.
Have you seen any of the show "Reaper"? It's not based on any comic character, but it's pretty much a comicbook show. Actually it's more of a lightweight comedy, but the devil character is quite well-written I think. And it's funny.[ Parent ]
No, I've not seen it. I may have seen a teaser somewhere. It looks like the sort of thing I would enjoy.
I voted Thor though, because really, the world needs a solid movie about Norse mythology . . .
I don't think there's a cheesier comic book character more worthy of having a movie. Jessica Alba would have been perfect to play her, except somebody already miscast her as Sue Richards.
Thanks for including her on your list."It means more if you have to earn it, even if it's by doing something as simple as eating a meal." Kellnerin
Nowadays though, she could use an iPod for music to charge her light powers. (With the caveat that if she only has one ear bud in, then she can only use her powers on that side of her body.)
I see the climactic fight against the villains happening at night on the rooftops, and just when you think she's done for, they crash through the roof of the biggest nightclub in town and then she mops up the baddies to the tune of Heart of Glass.[ Parent ]
Maybe Forge could come up with some device that would help with the one-sided iPod/light powers problem.
Why aren't they working on this movie?"It means more if you have to earn it, even if it's by doing something as simple as eating a meal." Kellnerin[ Parent ]
