What the heck, baby pictures (largish).

Second one is obviously much more recognizable than the first but you get the idea. We had this sonogram Tuesday, the last one with the fertility clinic. Next Thursday we "graduate" to a real OB. Both of them are still doing fine, had heartbeats in the 160-170 range, and measured within 2 days of the expected. We even saw movement out of both of them during the sonogram. Another hurdle cleared.

Things are going pretty well otherwise too. Jenn still has a little nausea once in a while but nothing like when she had the cold/flu, and seems to have gotten into a routine of knowing when she needs to eat something to stave it off. We're at 11 weeks and change as of right now. Jenn's been hearing a lot from my sister and others about "turning the corner" at 12 weeks and is really looking forward to that. Besides the nausea she's exhausted when she gets home every night, and in bed by 7:30-8 is pretty much the norm now.

  • KU in the Final Four. A lot of people around this area are doom and glooming KU after they barely beat Davidson. I'm kind of the opinion that they'll play better simply because NC is more of a known commodity, with Roy's style of play and such. We'll see I guess. Also lots of rumors this week about Self getting wooed by OSU and Boone Pickens money (in yet another similarity to '88) , which seems ridiculous to me, and not just because I'm a Jayhawk fan. I guess I can understand the desire to go coach "your school" but really, you're looking at a job where A) You're following in the footsteps of a legendary coach whom the fans love and will always compare you to, B) You've just seen that legendary coaches son get whacked after only 2 seasons, and C) You have an athletic department that is now almost totally dependent on one ultra-rich booster. OSU is a nice university, but this job has fail written all over it. The most common defense I've heard seem to be that OSU doesn't have as much pressure as KU, but that's bull. They might love Self the first couple of years he puts them in the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 or whatever, but after 2 or 3 years of that, if he were to not get them any further, they same old "Why can't Self win the big games" questions would start again. Success breeds expectations.
  • WoW dropped the 2.4 patch, which has been awesome so far. All those new daily quests are making the task of getting gold a lot more fun than grinding. It's interesting though: Clearly Blizzard wants everyone to be swimming in gold, which leads one to believe that epic flying mounts might be playing a significant role in the next expansion. I know that they've already said that flyers would be available in parts of Northrend, but I suspect there's something else involving them coming up. A flying mount BG perhaps?
  • Baseball. The Kansas City Royals are 3-0. This is disconcerting, since clearly scientists have managed to open a portal to the Bizarro Universe and replaced our team with their Bizarro counterparts. One wonders how long it will be before some Royal gets in trouble for driving his car through a red light or putting every cat he comes across up in a tree.

I've lost the ability to see them for more than a blob again.  Oh well, it's great to hear the babies are doing great.  Good luck!

It's just like looking at clouds. by ObviousTroll (2.00 / 0) #4 Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 11:21:09 AM EST
For example, on the bottom one, I clearly see the Buddha, floating upside down, smoking a hooka.

Has anybody seen my clue? I know I had it when I came in here.

This was the first sonogram that I could recognize them from anything else in the "background", let alone something that even vaguely resembled a human fetus. And admittedly these pics aren't the greatest, it was much more dynamic in person. Which I'd maybe have a video of if we'd hadn't forgotten the video camera that day. I'll probably only hear about that one for the next 30 years or so ;)
