I've also been chair of our town Democractic town committee. I came quickly to the realization that I didn't have time to do the job. Over the last three months it's become even more of an issue as I've dropped the ball on several occassions. Every four years the committee is re-elected. When that happens the officers are re-elected, so I decided to step aside and let someone with more time and drive take the reigns. So I'll still be on that committee, but only in a support role. Which is best for me and best for that committee.
I have a wonderful work story, and wish I could vent about it here, but the last company fired me for doing that, and I know if the current one read a work vent I would be dismissed from there too. So you won't get that vent here. No sir you won't.
Last weekend we went down to Hyannis for the weekend. Well, I was kind of there for the weekend. We're searching for a new school superintendant and I had to be in town for interviews. So I went to Hyannis after work on Friday, drove back home Saturday afternoon, drove to Hyannis Saturday night, drove home Sunda afternoon for work. That was so much fun that I can say I don't ever want a two hour commute, and anyone who has one is freaking nuts.
Back in January I bought a car that had 7,000 miles on it. So not quite new. This week it's in the garage because of a faulty fuel injector. I hope this isn't a sign that I'm going to be fixing this thing for the entirety of my loan. It got towed on Tuesday and I'm not expected to be able to pick it up until Monday or Tuesday this week.
I don't feel strongly about economics or politics these days to actually write about it. In the past I did and wrote a lot of diary entries about it. The sad fact is that until I see a politician show up and say "for all intent's and purposes this country is bankrupt, and we need to put pandering aside and fix our problems" I'm not going to find anyone in politics interesting.
End transmission.
