and perhaps other things

Feb 20 was my son's 6 month checkup.  He's 18 lbs 11 oz and 27 inches long.  It seems he's been slacking a bit, as he's dropped down to the 75th percentile.  All's well, and he's been cleared to eat solid foods to his heart's content (which is quite a bit, actually).

Whatever the Saturday was after the 20th, we headed out west to the land of theboz.  Babyboz is disgustingly adorable.  She and the dude had a good time playing, and we had a great time socializing with other parents.

I watched This Is Spinal Tap for the first time recently.

Today, we returned from a week-long trip to Cleveland.  It was cold the first few days.  My poor baby boy had a terrible time sleeping the first night due to arctic temperatures in my mother-in-law's unheated basement.  The second night, we put the hide-a-bed mattress (damn bars!) on the floor of the office, and things were much warmer (did I mention my m-i-l likes to keep the house at 50F?  she gets hot easily).  Anyway, the dude did awesome on both flights (he was complimented by everybody who sat around us on how well-behaved he was), and clock had a wonderful time with his family.  I had a good time as well.

It seems one Mr. Abooey decided to stand us up, which disappointed me to no end.  I was really hoping for the money photo of all of our shoes together.  Oh well, maybe next time!

Alas, it is late, and I'm exhausted.  One day I'll find the time to write something worthwhile.  Being a full-time mom is a frack-ton of work!

You're just now seeing Spinal Tap? And 256 is just now seeing Repo Man?

What is it with the geeks around here? Next thing you know Mr Ha, or Webwench, or someone, will be admitting they haven't seen Blade Runner yet. In any version.

Like Howard the Duck. The movie version, that is. Started watching it once, on cable, while extremely stoned, and found it dull. You could torture Al Qaeda prisoners by taping their eyes open (Clockwork Orange style) and making them watch it. Except that would be too evil even for Dick Cheney.

I've seen bits and pieces over the years, and know I'd like the rest. But I've never had the chance to just sit and watch it all the way through. I aim to rectify that.

One of the best movies EVAR! by greyrat (2.00 / 0) #9 Wed Mar 05, 2008 at 10:10:32 AM EST
My favorite few seconds is when Harrison Ford takes a drink (of Victory Gin, probably) while cleaning up after betting beat up. Awesome attention to detail.

was quite the sympathetic character. For a replicant.

frak. by cicero (2.00 / 0) #24 Sun Mar 09, 2008 at 03:39:26 AM EST
that's the only thing I hate about bsg.

I used to really hate baltar too, but the second time I watched season 1, he became a better character.  now frak's the only thing that I hate.

well, that and the fact that season 3 is being released on dvd in the states like, a week before season 4 starts.
