They can shove that up their collective arses.

Given how stupid, and uneducated and ill-informed the vast majority of the electorate are, shouldn't they be looking at ways to reduce participation?

Like for example, limiting the franchise to those paying top-rate income tax.

Isn't it sufficient for these wanker politicians to be in power without a mandate? Surely they don't need to rub our noses in it too by making us tell them that we approve?

I'd be OK with scaling the worth of each vote by the amount of tax that the voter has paid since the last election.

Never mind though: repealing mandatory voting would just give the Tories a guaranteed win at the next election.

Ticking 'none of the above' or 'spoiling your ballot paper' is all very well if you are of a civic-minded persuasion.
