Grats! by Gedvondur (2.00 / 0) #1 Tue Feb 12, 2008 at 06:20:46 PM EST
And you bastard!

My guild is only just doing Lady Vash in SSC.  Sigh.

The raiding has been eating all of my game time, both in ZA and in 25 mans for SSC.  I don't get to just play the other parts of the game much anymore and my alts are sorely neglected.

Same here, stuck on Vashj and Kael. We'll get them eventually!

That's true... by Gedvondur (2.00 / 0) #21 Tue Feb 19, 2008 at 10:18:26 AM EST
We are doing SSC mostly for gear at this point.  My understanding is that Kara-geared isn't enough for some of the Black Temple and Mount Hyjal instances.

There are a few things I would like, but I'm not sure how I am going to get much better than +1k shadow damage.

Did you hear about Tufts University epidemiologists learning Real Lessons from a Virtual World?

a bit of a stretch by codemonkey uk (2.00 / 0) #8 Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 07:09:13 AM EST
Given death has (almost) no consequences, it seems a  bit of a leap to suggest epidemiologists can learn much from that event.  Now economists, and team-dynamics researchers, or even sociologists, on the other hand ... potential goldmine of a data-set.

I'm so sorry dude. by Christopher Robin was Murdered (4.00 / 1) #6 Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 06:58:25 AM EST
I don't play the game regularly, but it seems completely unfair that they just ganged up on you like that. Still, you held that whole little army off for quite a long time. That's something. Better luck next time, amigo.

Not just an RPG by codemonkey uk (4.00 / 2) #9 Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 07:13:10 AM EST
But an MMORPG.

Which is worse, if you don't like these things.

How does one find the time. . . by nightflameblue (2.00 / 0) #10 Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 09:20:11 AM EST
to participate in these types of games? That's a genuine question. As someone who gets five to thirty minutes alone time every day, I can't imagine cooking up the hours required to play a game like this one. Which is sad, because it's exactly the type of thing I'd enjoy doing. There's just no chance I'd ever get beyond penniless guy who lives in a rut alongside a country road in the online world.

simple by codemonkey uk (2.00 / 0) #11 Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 09:25:34 AM EST
I don't watch TV (except maybe 1 or 2 hours a week).  Also, I don't go out much.  I'm married (with kids) and my wife plays as well.  Oh, and I work Mon-Fri away from home, I have a tiny flat near the office, and I don't go out drinking in the evening, so most of my weekday evenings are free.

Ah, that's the secret. by nightflameblue (2.00 / 0) #12 Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 10:14:37 AM EST
I'm married (with kids) and my wife plays as well.

That'd do it. I tried to get my wife started on Civilization, but the game thing just doesn't hold her attention like the TV. So our together time outside the bedroom stuff is usually TV time, not game time. TEKKEN is the only game she can stay interested in, and that only holds my attention for a few weeks at a time.

Sadly, I resemble this statement by houser2112 (2.00 / 0) #13 Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 03:59:36 PM EST
The difference being that Mrs. Houser2112's game of choice was Riven, which I found dreadfully boring.  However, while I don't mind watching TV, I refuse to watch a lot of the drivel she enjoys watching.  Millionaire Matchmaker, Lipstick Jungle, Little People Big World?  gag

It was really cool - they had like these 3D trees that you could touch and birds and animals and you could walk for miles and it was really big and everything.

They totally overdo the lighting on everything. It's ridiculously bright. To the point where it hurts your eyes.

birds and animals? by codemonkey uk (2.00 / 0) #17 Fri Feb 15, 2008 at 05:42:06 AM EST
Not round where I live.  Unless by "birds" you mean "skanky chav hos" and by "animals" you mean "their boyfriends".
