Need more sleep. Luckily I'm at work so that shouldn't be a problem.

The usual. Movies. Dreams.

Muzak: Rockin'. That plugin working changed the way I record completely. Also, it allowed me to experiment with sound without having to re-play every part I want to hear differently which is an incredibly freeing feeling. Basically, it's on now. If this weren't my early work week I'd say to expect an actual song by the end of the week. But, that's probably not going to happen this week.

BREAK

With lots of time off comes lots of movie watching.

Friday the 13th - we've watched from one to five now. One to three really have the classic movie appeal. Four and five kind of branch off the main subject and make it feel more like oh, just another slasher flick. Still enjoyable, but those two just feel different.

Grandma's Boy - we love this movie. I can't explain why. If asked to give good, solid reasoning as to why we like it, we couldn't. We've never been stoners, yet the stoner humor is funny. We've never been huge gamers, yet the gamer humor is funny. And the disgusting granny-sex running joke is disturbing, but underplayed in the movie compared to the previews. So why do we like it? No clue, but we do. It's fun. Sometimes fun works.

Non-movie: Dungeons & Dragons. The old cartoon series from the eighties. Mrs. NFB bought it the last time DeepDiscount had a big sale. She used to love this show, and so did I. Funny how years before we met we did so many of the same things. Anyway, this one holds up surprisingly well. The first episode is kind of weak, but it gets better from there.

BREAK

I hate being woken in the middle of the night. It always fires up the dream processor to maximum weird and sends me into strange thought patterns.

So, last night Pup1 needed to run outside at 1:30. No big woop, that sort of thing happens. In the usual course of events I barely wake up for that sort of thing. Let her out, she comes back, we go back to sleep. Not so last night. She decides to play fussy. To the point where it woke up Mrs. NFB, so I know it wasn't just my usual restlessness.

So, when I finally did get back to sleep, oh lord. Apparently work became the old high school in Fairmont. OK, whatever. But they moved our department while I was out last week and put a doctor's office in its place. But I wasn't the only one out. In fact, the only one there for the department was Zippy. So, I find where they moved us to and none of my notebooks are there. The notebooks I keep all the important stuff in. One of the CDC girls is sitting next to me, one I had a major crush on years ago, pre-wife, until I found out she was trouble with a capital TROUBLE. Anyway, she's sitting next to me and says something about how she's missing some stuff after they moved her department and I start screaming at her, "I had Zippy the wonder clown move me. You think I have any hope of ever seeing any of my shit again? EVER? DO YOU?!" She starts crying, and I wake up.

Fucked. Up.

Enough. Zippy's here and mumbling to himself across the cube wall. Gotta go re-seat his processors with a baseball bat applied liberally to the back of his head.

We have the Stob diaries and Bastard Operator from Hell, as well as RECs offerings; maybe there is also space for The Zippy Logs....

Is there really? by nightflameblue (2.00 / 0) #2 Mon Feb 11, 2008 at 09:34:59 AM EST
Do we truly need another blog of "dur, um, I found this awesome new website today that lets you play. . . WAIT, SHINY OBJECT!" That's all it would be with Zippy. Unless someone else wrote it about him. But the obvious frustration any individual would feel having to pay attention to him would seep through eventually.
