It seems that a website being dead does not stop it earning slightly more than one that is still alive.

Both sites however have a lot of catching up to do.

A quick check shows that "net worth" as used by that site is calculated by multiplying the daily ad revenue by 730 (2 x 365 days). That isn't the net worth, it is gross revenue. Net worth would be slightly lower due to administrative costs (hosting, network bandwidth, Chinese click farmers).
