HuSi Hog Stock

Yesterday I posted what I thought was a great link. It was a place you could adopt a pig.

Then when the pig was old enough, you got to eat it.

But Yicky Yacky came up with a good idea. If enough people chipped in, you could all buy me a pig to eat.

Then I thought, why don't we all eat it?

So here's the plan.

If enough people chip in the cash to raise a deposit, I'll adopt a pig for HuSi. Come summer time we'll have a pig to eat. If we've raised enough cash we'll have a big hog roast in a field somewhere, drink lots of beer and eat the pig.

If we only raise enough cash to buy the pig but not to roast it, I'll get the meat and if anybody wants to come and visit who's donated I'll give them a portion of it.

If we don't raise enough cash for the deposit, I'll refund everybody who donates.

I'll have to look around for somewhere nearer the time.

A pub, with a big garden and cheep rooms who'll let us roast a pig would be ideal.

A field somewhere if not.

In going to the UK (and Europe) and could be persuaded to align the long desired trip to Europe with a HuSI Hog Stock. I am unlikely to consume the pork, but can be convinced of the boozy part. But given the distance and likely expense, etc., it would be good to have a good idea of the dates sooner rather than later. So I can find cheap air fares, etc.

About when this HuSi-Pig-Gathering will be, so that I can save up some money, book a flight, and find somewhere to stay.

I'll see how much Maudite or Fin Du Monde or Blanche De Chambly or something I can import without being classified as a smuggler of fine, Quebecois beers.

(And if I can't make it or you don't raise enough to adopt the pig, keep the money. You deserve it.)

that expression was retired in 1985. Also, why would you turn down the efforts of someone to provide even more beer? A chance to taste a shitload of beers from around the world would be an excellent accompaniment to a large gathering. RIG and I would certainly bring a load with us, especially if we drive up.

The place that raises the pigs hires out a spit roast device, so I think we'd go for that.

A medieval banquet would be awesome, but I think we'll end up with hog on bread with quantities of beer and wine.
