My arm isn't getting its movement back in one plane, so the physio is bending the crap out of it in order to get it used to being bent. It doesn't cause pain so much, but rather, it is so incredibly uncomfortable that you forget to breathe.

Other than that it is good. I can swim without issue. I can curl smaller weights and despite the resistance in the orthogonal plane, it is close to full movement again. The shoulder feels way, way, stronger than it has in a long time. The pain on the first night after surgery was excruciating, but that was the only time it was unbearable. And that was probably more the drugs being inadequate than anything. I didn't exactly follow doctor's rules either. Not because I was being an asshole, but because it is difficult to live life in that cocoon of one arm in a sling. Unless you spend the whole time at home, it is impossible to do. I couldn't do that. So I am glad my pushing it a bit didn't require me to go through surgery to have it repaired because I didn't follow the cautions to the letter.

+1 would have shoulder surgery again.

Glad you're doing well. by ana (4.00 / 1) #1 Wed Nov 26, 2008 at 08:44:47 PM EST
I had a frozen shoulder once, and did the physical therapy thing. I still do stretching exercises nearly every day, and it's much better and there are no more shooting pains. I even managed to play softball for a couple summers. But yeah... ow.
