Music
By Dr H0ffm4n (Sat Nov 15, 2008 at 12:31:32 PM EST) (all tags)
In the last week, my iPod tells me I've listened to 157 pieces of music.

This is mostly on my daily walk or bus ride home. The iPod is on shuffle, and I skip tracks a lot, so I suspect the music is indicative of my moods.

If you're going to listen to a requiem by Dr Thrustgood (4.00 / 1) #1 Sat Nov 15, 2008 at 01:59:20 PM EST
I find Faure's the definitive answer.

I listen to something like 10-15% of my overall music collection over a year. Which, give that I spend a minimum of four hours listening to music at work, is kinda depressing.

WPKAW was in a choir by Dr H0ffm4n (2.00 / 0) #5 Sun Nov 16, 2008 at 01:06:15 AM EST
I saw/heard her sing both Faure's and Durufle's requiems at the church where I organised her memorial service. I spent the best part of 12 weeks listening to both, deciding which to include. As a result I know both too well and now they are not music I can listen to for pleasure because of the overwhelming feelings they evoke. In the end we included pieces from neither, but Ave Verum Corpus K.618 instead. She had sung that piece in concert with her school choir.

any music that can give you goosebumps while you're singing it is awesome.

My main time to listen to tunes is in the car by lm (4.00 / 1) #2 Sat Nov 15, 2008 at 02:55:30 PM EST
I seldom drive anywhere these days. So I don't listen to much music.

I should start ripping my CD collection. I'm right in front of the computer most mornings so I've got no reason not to listen.

Trying to export a text list from iTunes, I'm not wasting any more of it.

I mainly listen to mixes or podcasts of radio shows, don't listen to many individual tracks really.
