And we're watching baseball.

And the dog is doing the "is it bedtime yet?" dance. It's the middle of the first inning. And we only managed to stay up this long because today's game is a half hour earlier than Wednesday's was.

Tonight we went to hear Kelly Link read from her new collection of short stories, Pretty Monsters. It was fun. It's been a while since we did something like that.

OK, not the middle of the first inning yet... four hits, four runs, with two outs in the first inning. And now five hits.

Anyway, toxicfur joined me in The Square for dinner at a greasy spoon kind of a diner place, followed by the reading. The story seemed familiar; and it turns out it's also published in Noisy Outlaws, etc., the young-adult book with the longest title evar. 'Twas fun, though. And I found something in the queer theory section I couldn't live without.

I'm nearly through a quick re-reading of the novel for typos, fixing up the second draft. I guess I have to rework the synopsis, now that I actually know where the plot took me. Thanks, much, for all the comments, including the "Um, huh?" ones.

Tuesday starts the adult education class on writing novels. Should be fun.

Anyway. Bedtime. And the first inning is not yet over.

Buck Martinez and Chip Carey? Jesus why not just give us Dan Dierdorf and Fran Dresher?
