A tale of over-zealous and slightly meat-headed automagical intelligence.

Last week, for those in USia and Soviet Canuckistan, Monday was a holiday. For us it was Genocide Remembrance Columbus Day. So, like all good things, the long weekend came to an end.

Tuesday morning, I put into the subject line of my daily e-mail to toxicfur, "Monday cat is Tuesday".

Well, gmail had a look at that, and offered to add an event, "cat is" to our calendars for the following Tuesday. Which would be today. So toxicfur took them up on it, and added a location for this momentous event: the feline wormhole network.

This is something of an inside joke, since there's a scene in my latest novel where the professor's cat is the first to make use of the wormhole he's generated in the lab, for whatever a cat would do with such things (flowing uphill, I'd imagine, but I'm not a cat).

No, the professor was not named Schrödinger.

I want nothing to do with their wormholes.

I've been out of college for about fifteen years now.  In those fifteen years, though I've had several employers, I've never worked at a place that had Columbus Day off.  The current company has six recognized holidays.
