There were mice in the apartment, as proven by raids into my roommate's candy stash. Accordingly, he set out traps. He has no compunction about killing the mice, since his day job is killing rats all day in the name of Science. Looks like we caught one last night.
It's so cold outside. Not literally, metaphorically.
I hope McCain does not win. He looks worse and worse every day. Fortunately, the polls seem to reflect that. I did not watch the debates last night. I don't think I could stand it.
Speaking of looking worse and worse every day: how 'bout that stock market, eh? There is one benefit, though: it's getting me interested in economics again despite myself, which is good in the long run, because I need to know more about it than I do for what I do and will do in the future. Speaking of which: I need a new job, but several of the places I applied to are now insolvent or fairly close to it (AIG and Wachovia were two). One of the others had lost 50% of its value between March 1st and September 1st, I haven't checked since then. Oh well.
I, like The Ramones, just want to be well. I also have an urge to wander. Maybe it's time to leave the city. There isn't much for me here and there's a lot that's not for me here. I could just put on some Songs: Ohia and drive off.
Enough. It's time for lunch. I brought a sandwich. There isn't a dish of candy out today, so I won't steal any candy. C'est la vie.
If I do decide to actually get in real shape instead of running shape, I guess I'll join the university gym where I'm an alumnus. The question is whether to join the main new gym or to just get a membership at the old gym. All I really need is proper weightlifting stuff and probably something to run on. I know the old gym has a track and stuff to run on. I don't know about proper weightlifting stuff. The new gym, however, does. They also have a pool. However, it's like $130 more.
