Old Oak has made no move. I am still researching, and working through various stages of emotion before refining my policy for moving ahead. My wife and I are not seeing eye to eye on every point, but our discussions are productive.
An unexpected upshot of whole thing: I am less physically intimated by him now, which might seem paradoxical since all I managed to prove on the weekend was that I'm pretty weak and definitely not dangerous. Never the less, there you have it -- I feel braver, and am now more and not less likely to intervene.
My kids are fine, though my mother-in-law tells me the boy has declined a couple of invitations to ride on the ATV. I think he's a bit nervous. This makes Old Oak feel rejected and sad. So it's win-win.
